When I was ten years old, I stood on the prairie in Wyoming, where close by a herd of bison were grazing under summer’s beautiful blue, cloudless sky. Some memories are so powerful they never leave. Instead, they serve as inspiration to create art.

Bison Blue Skies is bold, wearable art inspired by the memories of that August afternoon. Each handmade pendant begins as a flat piece of sterling sheet. By using the time consuming repoussé technique of hammering, raising and chasing, a bison takes shape and form in the metal. Due to the nature of the process, each bison will differ slightly and each pendant will be a unique piece of art.

Turquoise and Denim Lapis beads adorn the sterling chain, which ends with a handmade hook closure at one end and a feather dangle at the other. Turquoise beads may vary somewhat from the photo, and every piece is a one-of-a-kind due the handmade nature of the work. Approximately 24” long; adjustable. Pendant is 2-½” by 2-¼”. Bison Blue Skies is a signed, limited edition piece.
